About Boundio
The village of Boundio is a community of approximately 600 people located in the Bougouni region. Most community members are subsistence farmers who rear livestock and grow corn, cotton, groundnuts. potatoes, beans and millet. Some also support themselves by fishing.
Prior to the build there were only 3 temporary classrooms in Boundio. These were made from mud bricks and were dark and dusty, making it difficult for students to learn.
Today, all that has changed and the students of Boundio no longer have to learn in small, overcrowded classrooms or walk 9km to the nearest community with a proper school.
