About Fadie
The village of Fadie is a community of approximately 748 people located in the Sikasso region. Most community members are subsistence farmers who rear livestock and grow corn, cotton, peanuts, beans and millet. Some also support themselves by producing and selling charcoal.
Prior to the build there were two temporary classrooms in Fadie. These were dark and overcrowded and the foundations had started to crumble making them unsafe for children.
Today, all that has changed and the students of Fadie are learning in safe, well-lit, spacious classrooms no longer have to walk over 5km to the nearest community with an adequate school.
