About kayereka

The village of Kayereka is a community of approximately 970 people located in the Central region. Most community members are subsistence farmers who rear livestock and grow beans, groundnuts and tobacco.

A school block was first created back in 2019 however there was still not enough space for all 682 children to learn comfortably. Some students were being taught in temporary classrooms that were overcrowded and inadequate for learning.

Today, all that has changed and the students of Kayereka now have enough safe, spacious classrooms in which to learn and no longer have to walk over 11km to the nearest village with a proper school.
