About Neguela

The village of Neguela is a community of approximately 1,134 people located in the Sikasso region. Most community members are subsistence farmers who rear livestock and grow corn, cotton, groundnuts, potatoes, rice beans and millet.

Prior to this build there were only two temporary classrooms in Neguela. These classrooms were made from mud bricks and were dark and dusty making it difficult for the students to learn.

Today, all that has changed and the students of Negual no longer have to learn in small, overcrowded classrooms or walk 4km to the nearest village with a proper school.
