6 Bottle case of Cos d’Estournel
Cos d’Estournel has become the leading estate in St Estèphe in recent times and the 2016 Cos was unquestionably one of the very best wines produced in Bordeaux in 2016, a vintage which for many sits along-side the absolute finest in the last 100 years. Following its release in May 2017 three of the leading critics gave it a perfect 100 point score:
“The 2016 Cos d’Estournel was a bona fide showstopper out of barrel, the best that I had encountered in over 20 years of visiting the estate...this is a monumental, benchmark Cos d’Estournel that will give not years but decades of pleasure”
100/100 Neal Martin, vinous.com
Bottled in July 2018.....the 2016 Cos d'Estournel is blended of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc aged in 65% new and 35% two-year-old French oak for 15 months....Just. Magic. Drink 2024-2068.”
100/100 Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate
“Extravagant. Magical. Try from 2025.”
100/100 James Suckling
As a result of the accolades the 2016 Cos has already risen in value by 15% in the last 18 months from £702 to £825 a case - if you can find any for sale - and is therefore not only a delicious addition to any cellar but an excellent investment too!
